A LARGE CHALLENGE FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO KEEP THE VISUALS LOOKING FRESH CONSIDERING CLOSE TO HALF THE SHOTS OCCUR IN THE SINGER’S VEHICLE. WE OVERCAME THIS BY FILMING AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND FROM ALL SORTS OF DIFFERENT ANGLES. AND, I TOOK SPECIAL CARE TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY ANGLE AND SETTING CONTRIBUTED IN SOME WAY TO THE OVERALL MOOD OF THE STORY.
WE SHOT EVERY BIT OF THIS FILM ON LOCATION AT PENSACOLA BEACH IN JUST TWO DAYS. THE NIGHT SCENES PROVED ESPECIALLY CHALLENGING BUT I ARRIVED A DAY EARLY TO MAKE SURE WE KNEW EXACTLY WHERE AND HOW WE WERE FILMING SO NO TIME OR EFFORT WOULD BE WASTED.
WE WANTED THE MEMORY SEQUENCES TO FEEL DISTANT, ROMANTIC AND AIRY. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS, I INTENTIONALLY OVEREXPOSED AND SHOT FAIRLY OUT OF FOCUS TO ACHIEVE THE INTENDED EFFECT.
